Good water quality is non-negotiable.They are sensitive to nitrates, frequent water changes are essential to keep their colors vibrant and their immune systems strong.

When choosing tankmates, avoid housing them with boisterous or nippy species that might interfere with their calm nature or outcompete them for resources. Because they are deliberate, slow eaters, they do best with food that settles slowly or rests on clean surfaces. Their favourite meals include high-quality beef heart, frozen bloodworms, enriched brine shrimp, and specialised slow-sinking discus granules.
