The Male Blue Moscow Guppy (Poecilia reticulata) is a highly sought-after strain, famous for its deep, royal blue coloration that saturates its entire body. They grow to about 5cm and are a great in any peaceful community tank.
While guppies are incredibly social, we recommend keeping the Blue Moscow Guppy in a group of at least 6 males to create a stunning, high-contrast display. They are active and playful, constantly exploring the mid-to-upper layers of the tank. They are quite hardy but prefer water on the slightly harder side, thriving in a pH range of 7.0–8.5. Because of their long, delicate fins, they should be kept in tanks with a gentle flow and without any other species that are known fin nippers. They are enthusiastic eaters and not at all picky, for the best health and deepest black coloration, feed them a variety of flakes, micro-pellets, and frozen treats like brine shrimp.
Our Blue Moscow Guppy originate from Sri Lanka and have been well dewormed with Praziquantel or with Levamisole, as well as preventatively for Ich. We are also fully aware of the fin rot and bacterial pathogens that can affect these guppies with their beautiful long tails, so we aim to protect their beautiful tails and treat with acriflavine to prevent fin rot.
