Daro Stop Fungus

Despite the basic name, Daro Stop Fungus is actually a powerful broad-spectrum treatment that excels at treating fin rot, symptoms resembling discus plague, and cross-contamination between different bacterial groups, an anti-fungal treatment suitable for both fresh water and saltwater aquariums. It is a great antibacterial product for most negative gram bacterial types with it’s active ingredient being Acriflavine, making it one of my personal “Nelize’s go-to remedies” for quarantining or introducing new discus to an existing setup. It is affordable, highly effective, and essential for acute or emergency cases.

However, keep in mind that Acriflavine can temporarily impair the fertility of adult breeding pairs, so it should not be used on active breeders. It will turn your aquarium water yellow for a few days and reduce clarity temporarily. While thick-leaved plants like Anubias and Amazon Swords handle it fine, delicate plant species may melt or pause their growth. Acriflavine is significantly more effective in higher pH environments, so maintaining a pH above 6.8 during treatment will give you the best results.
