Hikari IntestiPro

This favourite from Discus Divana, Hikari IntestiPro is a powdered medication designed for treating both internal and external flagellates and parasites. It is an absolute must-have in your emergency kit if you keep discus or angelfish like we do! Unlike standard metronidazole tablets, IntestiPro blends both Praziquantel and Metronidazole into a far more effective powdered formula. The Praziquantel paralyzes internal parasites so they are expelled from the host, causing them to die if they cannot reattach within 24 hours. Metronidazole targets active flagellates, though because it does not kill unhatched cysts or embryos. We recommended to re-dose after 7 days, to kill any cysts / embryos of flagella that may have hatched, it is best to be safe. 

When preparing to treat, remove any activated carbon from your filter and clean or swap your mechanical media, but never turn off/stop your biological filtration entirely because that could negatively impact your nitrogen cycle.

Accurate dosing is critical, so calculate your true gallon capacity by multiplying tank length, width, and height in inches and dividing by 231, making sure to subtract space taken up by substrate, rocks, and decor.

Warning: Never overdose, never mix this with permanganate treatments, and do not use sulfur or sulfite-based water conditioners. IntestiPro is harmful to invertebrates like snails, shrimp, and crayfish, etc.

Please note: The powder dissolves slowly in the water column. Small white clumps lingering initially are normal and provide a steady, slow-release treatment active for up to 5 days after your last dose.
