API KH/GH Test Kit

API KH/GH test kit is my absolute go-to for quick water checks. After years of trial and error with fish diseases, parameter shifts, and import acclimation, this GH and KH test kit remains my favorite because it is simple, accurate, and fast. Instead of making you struggle to guess subtle shade differences on a color chart, the test relies on an exact drop count where the liquid changes color the moment the chemical reaction balances. The exact drop count gives a great indication what your GH and KH levels are. API test kits also tend to last longer than many other brands on the market. The API GH & KH TEST KIT helps you detect low KH levels, which can lead to rapid and wide pH shifts that stress your fish.

Please make sure that your water level is filled precisely to the 5 ml line at eye level to avoid parallax errors. Always pre-rinse the test tube with the actual aquarium water you intend to test so residual droplets don’t skew your readings, and rinse it thoroughly with distilled water once you are done. Testing your water parameters weekly helps prevent hidden water issues from harming your fish. Carbonate hardness (KH) acts as a critical buffer, and catching low KH early prevents rapid, dangerous pH crashes that severely stress your aquarium stock – Nelize. Shipped nationwide.
