The Albino Corydora (Corydoras aeneus var. “Albino”) is a classic aquarium favorite, loved for its bright, peach-pink body and distinctive red eyes. These “armored” catfish are a selectively bred morph of the Bronze Cory, maintaining all the hardiness and personality of their ancestors but with a luminous, pearlescent glow that makes them incredibly easy to spot in a planted tank. Growing up to 7 cm, they are active, bottom-dwellers that spend their lives “vacuuming” the substrate with their sensitive whiskers (barbels).
We highly suggest a group of 6–12 Albino Corys. In larger groups, they become much bolder and will often be seen resting together in a cute “cory pile” or darting to the surface for a quick gulp of air. They are remarkably hardy, making them one of the best choices for beginner hobbyists and community setups alike.
They are dedicated bottom-feeders,so a sandy or smooth gravel substrate is vital to protect their delicate barbels from abrasion. They are exceptionally peaceful and make perfect neighbors for timid species. They thrive on a diet of sinking catfish wafers, shrimp pellets, and frozen bloodworms to keep them healthy and growing.
