The Chili Rasbora (Boraras brigittae), also known as the Mosquito Rasbora, is one of the smallest schooling fish available. Growing to a maximum of only 2 cm , these fish are famous for their intense, fiery red coloration and a distinct dark stripe that runs horizontally along their slender bodies.
We strongly suggest buying 10–15 Chili Rasboras. Because of their minuscule size, they are naturally timid. Please note the Chili Rasbora prefers hiding spaces, lots of plants and gentle flow rate, they are a schooling fish. You must avoid any tank mates that are large enough to consider them a snack, even peaceful fish like Angelfish or large Gouramis are too risky.
They are perfect companions for Neocaridina shrimp, small snails, and other micro-rasboras>. Since they have tiny mouths and prefer to stay in the upper to middle water layers, feed them minuscule, slow-sinking foods. Their favorite meals include baby brine shrimp, cyclops, and finely crushed high-quality flakes or specialised micro-granules.
