The Albino Ancistrus Pleco or< Albino Bristlenose is a great to any freshwater aquarium. While most plecos are camouflaged in browns and blacks, this variety features a bright, creamy-yellow to golden body and striking pink eyes, making them easy to spot as they work. Unlike the common pleco these only grow to a manageable 10–12 cm.
Albino ansictrus are some of the best algae eaters at cleaning glass, rocks, and decor. As they mature, males develop fleshy bristles on their snouts, which is why they are also known as bristle nose plecos. They are hardy and peaceful, making them ideal tank mates for everything from small tetras to larger community fish. They thrive in a pH range of 6.5–7.5 and like well-oxygenated water with plenty of hiding places.
Albino Ancistrus need natural driftwood in the aquarium, as they graze on it to obtain necessary fiber for their digestion. While they are great at eating algae, they still need feeding to keep them healthy and vibrant. Supplement their diet with algae wafers, sinking pellets, and fresh vegetables like zucchini or cucumber.
