About the Purple Half-moon Betta Fish

The Purple Half-moon Betta Fish (Betta splendens) is distinguished by its purple body and red and blue streaked tail and fins that fan out to a full 180 degrees. Reaching an adult size of 6–7 cm, Originally from the shallow, warm waters of Southeast Asia, they bring a visually engaging element to the mid-to-upper levels of the aquarium.

The Purple Half-moon Betta Fish are best kept alone, but we strongly suggest a tank of at least 20 litres with a low-flow filter to protect their delicate, heavy fins.
