Amazon Sword Ozelot

The Amazon Sword “Ozelot” (Echinodorus ‘Ozelot’) is a spectacular hybrid cultivar, striking even under low light levels. Reaching a height of 20–40 cm, it is one of the more robust and adaptable sword varieties, it serves as a magnificent background plant in larger setups or a commanding midground centerpiece in mid-sized tanks.

Prioritise its massive root system by burying it in a deep, nutrient-rich substrate, feedingwith root tabs. As a dominant root feeder, it draws its strength from the soil rather than the water column. It is exceptionally hardy, handling a wide pH range of 6.0–8.0, and grows lushly without the need for high-intensity lighting or CO2.

Avoid placing this plant in shallow or nutrient-poor sand, as it is a hungry species that can quickly deplete minerals in the immediate area. Its broad, sturdy leaves offer natural shelter for bottom-dwellers and ideal spawning sites for Discus or Angelfish.
