The Dumbo Ear Mosaic Guppy Female (Poecilia reticulata) is a designer variant that brings a unique look to the aquarium. Known for their wing-like pectoral fins flutter gracefully as they swim paired with a “Mosaic” tail that features intricate, lace-like or marbled patterns in brilliant hues of blue, red, and violet. They are much more vibrant and elaborate than their female counterparts.
As social livebearers, they are much happier and more active when kept in groups. While the standard rule for the Dumbo Ear Mosaic Guppy is schooling in six, we suggest keeping a group of 8–12 males. They are exceptionally hardy and adaptable, thriving in a pH range of 7.0–8.5 and preferring moderate to hard water.
Since they are active explorers and surface feeders, they should be fed flakes and micro-pellets. To support their growth and vibrant tail patterns, supplemental feedings of frozen daphnia, brine shrimp, and bloodworms are highly recommended. Please note that these Dumbo Ear Mosaic Guppies are imported and the genetic history and purity is unknown.
