The Blue eyed Daisy or Daisy’s Blue Ricefish (Oryzias woworae) This tiny fish grows to only 3 cm but makes a big impact with its shimmering, iridescent blue body and vivid red-orange accents along the throat and fin edges. Unlike many other ricefish that can be somewhat plain, “Daisy’s” are prized for their neon-like glow, especially when kept under good quality aquarium lighting.
These are exceptionally peaceful, schooling fish that bring a high level of energy to the top and middle layers of your tank. We recommend keeping them in a group of 8 to 12. They are incredibly hardy and adaptable, making them perfect for “nano” tanks and seasoned community setups alike.
They thrive in well-planted aquariums with a gentle to moderate flow and a pH of 6.5–7.5. They aren’t picky eaters and will happily accept micro-pellets, crushed flakes, and baby brine shrimp. Their active, curious nature means they are always on the move, making them one of the most entertaining and visually rewarding species for any small-to-medium-sized aquarium.
